The ACRI fosters a collaborative environment among its research scientists that favors discovery. Through their efforts our researchers are gaining a better understanding of cancer cells and the factors that distinguish them from normal cells. Through this approach, ACRI scientists are determining which factors are altered in cancer cells in order to find innovative methods for cancer detection and treatment.

Ultimately, our understanding of cancer biology and the application of translational research will allow the discoveries at ACRI to have an impact on cancer-related care such as:
  • early detection;
  • better diagnostic and prognosis tools, and
  • improved treatments

ACRI scientists are taking several different approaches to tackle cancer research. These approaches include, but are not limited to, the areas described in this section.
